Got a few jobs around the house or a crafty project that needs touching up?
Supercheap Auto has your paint needs covered with a range of general purpose enamel paints in spray pack aerosol and convenient tins for brush on application.
Here’s how to get the best result from your paint finish.
Step 1 - Large Touch Ups
Start by cleaning up the item to be painted; removing all loose paint, dirt and rust.
A quick application of SCA Wax & Grease remover will ensure the surface is free from wax, grease & other contaminants, ensuring a clean surface for painting.
A wire brush or moderately course grit sandpaper is ideal for this.
Step 2
If there is rust present on your work piece, it is good practice to treat this with SCA rust converter – before applying the Export grey or white primer.
Allow 24 hours for this to dry before applying the next coat, and apply further coats allowing 1 hour between each until you are happy with the result.
Step 3
The adjustable fan spray nozzle allows for accurate application in hard to reach areas.
Step 4
To provide a high gloss finish, protect your piece and ensure a long lasting shine.
Apply a few coats of clear to finish the job.
Step 1 - Small Touch Ups
As with the spray can application, ensure the surface to be painted is free of loose paint, rust and dirt.
Apply a rust converter if necessary – and a coat of grey primer to all unpainted surfaces.
Step 2
Recoat time will vary depending on the method of application, so allow each coat to dry for an hour after it becomes dry to touch.
